opinions on tube rect. phantom vs diode bridge

I am designing a new tube mic preamp.(top Secret)

anyway who wants tube rectified phantom power and who thinks it should be a diode bridge.

it will be regulated and ramped.

Looking for your opinion. Be Nice.

Hi
If you plan to sell it or even if not, silicon rules really as the extra effort to use a valve rectifier with eventual unreliability and waste heat does not make much sense.
You would be better off dropping the HT from the main supply down to 48 as the phantom reqiuirement is so smal.

Would a tube rectifier sag at preamp power draw levels or is there some other reason to to use a tube?

Hi
You're the designer, you can work it out knowing the fluctuations in current draw and the impedance of the rectifier.

Me? The OP is the designer; I just have a question for anybody who takes time to actually answer it.

Hi
Basically no and if it did then the circuit would probably oscillate at low frequencies.
For a preamp the percentage change in current draw of the overall circuit is small unlike a power amp (excepting class A) where the amp at full drive will be many times the 'quiescent' level.

Opinions? Sorry, until we see something, they are also top secret.
