Who can build me Hi End Gain Driver ?

Hi

Is here anybody who can build the stereo gain driver able to provide up 6 or 8 db of transparent gain with 0.5 db stepped knob . That's all i need .
Stereo in xlr balanced, Stereo out xlr balanced , 1 steeped knob for both channels. Feel free to PM me .
Thanks

So, if I'm reading into it right, you are looking for a line level sort-of preamp, right?

What converters you got?

I assume they haven't got a trim to change the reference level?

(Just thought I'd try the old theory of the simple answer is always the best...)

Those few decibels you're missing are called "headroom". You're not supposed to be using them most of the time.

I have rosetta 800 Apogee ,no trim on them .Maybe i could buy them extra but not cheap and trim would be inside the unit i think ....

Do you know how to solder? There are some very easy projects w/kits at group diy. Check it out.

It's a forum, google it. Many people offer kits with almost everything you'll need to carry out various projects.

You could also look for an off-the-shelf "bump box" which is intended for translating between -10dBV unbalanced systems and +4dBu balanced systems. So, nominally 14dB gain but many have trim controls. I've got a 2-channel unit made by Benchmark, but there are plenty of others out there. I know Symetrix makes a decent one.

once you account for the difference between dBV and dBu, I believe it's more like 11db gain.
