Splicing a Molex?

Is it possible to splice two molex's together?
I have 3 x 20 unit D&R bays- I have an idea of having 20 channels in the left hand bay, putting Mackie Control in the middle bay and then putting the other 12 channels and master module in the right hand bay.
Is this possible (or safe) to do?

Wire can be spliced, but connectors just plug in to other connectors. If you're asking whether a Molex cable can be extended, the answer is yes. An extension cable could probably be built, with Molex connectors on each end, to lengthen your cables. Sometimes there are cheaper, more efficient ways to do this than building an extension, but it would depend on the specifics of your console.

I don't really know that board or its connector system, but if you can provide a photo, maybe I or someone else here could give a better answer. Best wishes.

Hi David,

thanks for the response.
It is a D&R Series 4000. I will take a pic of the cables tomorrow.
