Gyraf Gyratec X - aka G10

Norah vs. Gyraf G10 Stereo vari-mu compressor.

Yes, I'm aware that this piece may not be the perfect material for vari-mu compressor demonstration - but it was a specified job for a client, so we had the files already.

General settings and explanation:

Converter levels: 0dBfs is ca. +10dBu

All files normalized to 0dBfs post G10 processing (for ease of direct comparison).

Settings are clock-face readings, i.e. full ccw=07:00, centre=12:00, full cw=17:00

Following the G10 files, our G3 (Stereo Electro-optical compressor) is probably more suitable on this type of material:

www.gyraf.dk/tmp/Norah_GIII_V1.wav

Still referring to the above original file.

Same levels and conventions as the G10 example.

..unfortunately I can't find the hardware recall information on this - it was about gentle loudness optimization, set up by our local ME.

Received my GX last week and I must say that it is a wonderful beast!

Could not resist to do my own compressed version of Norah's song with a slower attack (16:00) taming the vowels gently.

I have to say, Gyraf has one of the best logos I've seen in the audio gear world. Right up there with JCF.
