Actually Josh Howard is the guy Miami needs to worry about.

Posey can't guard both Dirk and Josh Howard. So there will be a mismatch in Dallas' favor actually.

Maybe I should rethink that last post where I picked Miami. This might be a really good series.

(1)Perimeter defense and (2)keeping Shaq out of foul trouble will be key for Miami.

Josh Howard is the player every team Dallas has faced so far has had a problem with. Haslem and Posey are going to have their hands full. The matchups in this series look really interesting. I think it's going to be a great series. I'm not even sure who I'm rooting for yet. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy it.

I imagine Miami will put J Dub (Jason Williams) on JET (Jason Terry), and Gary Payton will guard Devin Harris. Actually Payton will end up guarding both those guys I bet.

Obviously Miami will try to punish Dallas inside with Shaq and Zo. Look for Haslem to pop out for those midrange jumpers that he's gotten better at hitting.

Miami will use the proven method of posting Shaq up and having him kick out to the shooters when he can't beat the doubleteam.

When Shaq gets in foul trouble, they can go with Wade. Wade can probably get all kinds of penetration against the Dallas defense.

Remember, Kobe scored over 60 points against Dallas in 3 quarters.

I will give Miami a lot of credit....they did a hell of a job on Dirk. But they better step it up about TWO more notches because Dirk, Harris, and Howard didn't really have a great game and that might not happen too often.

But looking at the matchups thusfar, I really think Dallas needs to win those first two at home. Miami competed with them a lot better than I originally thought and I think that those 3 games in Miami are going to be crucial if Dallas loses game 2.

This was my thought exactly, before the series started.

I had a feeling that if Dallas got behind they'd be screwed.

Miami is a resillient bunch, they'll put up a good fight.

Also, I give you (Big 3rd) credit for being a true NBA basketball fan.

Once your Pistons were knocked out, you're still enjoying the games, which is what it's all about.

Yeah, your team had a legitimate chance at winning it all, and they were almost expected to.

I didn't even think the Lakers would make the playoffs, but Houston had such a horrible year.

The Clippers were cool to watch in the playoffs, though I wish they would have gone further.

Well so far the home team has 2-0. Miami better come through @ home or it will be curtains. If Miami wins 3 in Miami, more than likely we are looking @ a 7 game series.

If Miami should lose one at home. Dallas will likely be the champs.

It's curtains already. I told you Dallas has way too many weapons and Miami is just running on heart right now. All Dallas has to do is run the sh*t out of them and they won't have a chance in hell. Plus Miami's D can only hold up for so long.
I think you looked at the Pistons series and thought..."boy, this team is on all cylinders and they are gonna win the whole sh*t." You can't gage Miami's preparedness by beating the Pistons. The Pistons were a shell of their former selves. And honestly, the only team in the East that could possibly put Dallas or any team in the west down was the Pistons and even I was leary about that because of how the coach used the bench and how the bench could or COULDN'T produce. I've said from the very beginning...hell even before this thread was put out, around All star weekend, that I was kinda afraid of Dallas. They are way too deep, Avery got them playing pretty solid D, Dirk is becoming more than a jump shooter, Terry is becoming a BETTER shooter, Stack is really another starter on that team, Josh and Devin can break the D down at will, and Dampier have been coming through on some big time hustle plays that makes the crowd go bananas. They are a tough cover...bottom line. No matter who played them.

Like I said, Dallas in 5, but most likely 6. And the Heat better win the next one or it's over in 4.

Third it doesnt fail, THERE you go again.

Man the home team won 2 games at home.

This is what's SUPPOSED to happen, it's why they play the games in the order that they do. It's not a matter of a slaughter as you describe. It's a good series.

I think instead YOU never looked at Miami play ANYONE. You counted them out against Jersey, then there was no way they would beat Detroit. LOL You are unbelievable.

You are really just a fan who knows NOTHING about hoops.

Miami will win or loose. Cool, I'm fine with that. BUt the PISTONS ARE DEAD OR GONE FISHING.

PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT TEAMS THAT ARE AT HOME.

DONT TELL ME WHAT ONLY DETROIT COULD DO.

TELL CHAUNCEY TO FIX MY DAMN BREAKFAST AND GIVE GP A BACKRUB (CAUSE GP OWNED HIM DURING THE SERIES)

And have lil Ben To go trim his Bush because it obviously doesnt give him strength.

Even if your prediction comes true, It doesnt count, you've been wrong too many times. You dont have a right to talk basketball stats till next year. I'm removing your GS privilege card. You have been far too wrong for far to LONG.

QUIT IT.

Dont tell me about how you have been scared of Dallas, You should have been scared of Miami, it was them who kicked Detroit's Ass and Handed it to them.

As Paul Silas said on NBA Fastbreak the other night.......

"The Stackster!"

Jerry Stackhouse put 'em down the other night.

I'm pretty sure the refs will allow Miami to win 2 of those home games, but it's clear that the team is in a funk.

Pat Riley does not make a lot of adjustments in a series, that's just how he has always coached.

The Heat players are starting to look upset. Did you see Udonis Haslem's face? He wanted to kill somebody.

So far it looks like Dallas wants it more. The aging Heat players aren't getting it done, and there seems to be some infighting amongst them.

Now D. Wade knows how Kobe felt. I bet he thinks he could pretty much win this thing by himself with a few role players.

the last 3 games are worse than the officials cheating for the Steelers in the Superbowl... .and I wanted San Antonio to go for the ring.

its a sad day in sports.

I thought it was a foul if you pushed a defensive player down at the half court line especially when you have three defenders on you ANNNNNNd you are trapped near the sideline and half court line.
Wade push the man down at the half court line before he drove to the basket. He shouldnt have been at the free throw line. Should have been an off. foul.....Mavs ball....game over.

**** is sad....

I know one thing...crazy as folks are here in Dallas. The heat and the officals will need to stay in a secret hotel outside the city. The will also need a police escort to the games.

dude.......this is really sad. This might be as bad as "IRAQ HAVING WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION"

heh I'm starting to wonder how much of this is because the other owners hate Mark Cuban??

Two major free throws missed down the stretch...bad officiating...

But all in all....if Terry doesn't throw that bad pass in game 3...this is probably a 3-0 Dallas lead. Dallas is choking. Miami is capitalizing and now I see a 7 game series. Maybe.

The officiating is just terrible though...

teh longer the playoffs go on the more money the NBA and its owners will make.

this matchout should be over...that is if the refs wasnt cheating.

I know folks watched games one and two.....not to mention the regular season games that the heat lost over the past 3 yrs vs dallas. 6-0

Come on, there have been bad calls on BOTH sides of the ball.

And surely 3rd is gonna cry about what could have happened LOL

It's a ball game.

you all weren't complaining when Dallas was winning.

What about the times that Wade was fouled with no call?

What about the fact that you all counted Miami out and there was no way they'd be in the position they are?

Remember, Surely they cant beat Jerzey!
"I promise they cant beat Detroit!"

Remember?

It's simply the 2 best teams battling for the top spot and ANY team can win, but you guys wanna make it one sided and count out Miami

There is no way that David Stern is handing that trophy to Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban.
What does that mean? It means all the calls are going to go the Heat’s way. I wouldn’t be
surprised if Dirk got suspended for a game somehow. Stern’s hate for Cuban makes Shaq’
s hate for Kobe seem like a sandbox fight. Stern only cares what will make the NBA money
and trust me it is better for the league financially if Shaq and the Heat win than the
Mavericks. Is it right? Hell no, but will it happen they way I say it will? Just watch the games.

P.S.
.....bottom line is on that very last drive by Wade, he pushed Jason Terry under the Mavs bench right after he crossed the half court ...but that wasn't an offensive foul. (in the officials eyes)
but it was funny as hell on the Sports Center highlights
Terry went flying like a paper airplane.

P.S. Welcome back to TEEEEXAS.
Heat got their ass handed to them the first 2 games(and dirk didnt have good games), AND THE PAST THREE YRS vs Dallas(6-0). 2 out of the last 3..the Heat won by only 1 point even though the officials were cheating.

Howard and Terry are the ones to watch. The first 2 games, the heat got beat because Shaq failed to come over to help from the weak side.

Terry would get loose on a Pick and Roll because Dirk would set the Pick.

When Dirk sets a pick they cant switch because Haslem and Posey are the only ones who can play him.

Imagine what would happen if they switched and Payton ended up checking Dirk

So Terry would get open on the wing, EVERY TIME

The work around was to have Shaq come over from the weak side and swing at him.

That's what made him start to miss.

D. Wade went off as expected.

The Mavs lose 4 in a row. You have to win one game on the road.

They kept playing like there was another game.

Good to see Gary Payton get a ring.

Damn I should have bet this year. The past 2 series, I not only picked the winner, but also the number of games. AND they were the underdog.

Too bad I dont gamble anymore.

So I guess the Heat is the best team in the league now.
