Does anybody here also post there and if so is your account banned? I went to login this morning and got this message

Please contact the Board Administrator for more information.

A ban has been issued on your IP address.

There was a ton of spam on there last night and was wondering if all accounts have been banned or if my account was banned in error.

I just encountered the same problem. I tried to email the admin, but I just got this "550 5.1.0 Recipient rejected" as a reply.

The same here, i immidiatly thought it's probably hacked or something. We'll just have to wait.

I am having the very same problem. The site was clearly being bombarded with spam yesterday so I can only assume that either the SysAdmin has posted this message to keep users off whilst he sorts the mess out or the site has indeed been hacked.

I went there yesterday to try and register and got that message. I emailed [email protected] and followed up today by sending them a link to this thread.

I'm banned too. That site is constantly bombarded with spam I don't know what the hell they are doing over there. This time they were probably hacked

Seems like a huge block of Canadian IP addresses that are banned.

edit: seems like a good chunk of the Western world is also banned. Pretty drastic way of dealing with it, IMO

Yeh I got the banned thing Sunday 12th Feb eve about 18:00 (UK) - I just figured it was as a result of all the recent attacks/spambots by people who don't deserve to have internet access. Hopefully the tech crew will sort things, in the meantime...

Yep, I'm IP permabanned too. Was about to post in Moan Zone about it, since I haven't been active there (VSE) for a while and it was quite a shock.

Oh phew, it's not just me then. Either they got hacked or are in the process of trying to stop that person who puts up that Korean spam.

I got the ban message also, hopefully it will be fixed without any major problems.

Count me in! Glad you guys posted about this because I rarely post anything on VSE except the rare occasion Im selling something so wasnt sure whose toes I stepped on or didnt step on. Now from what I am reading here I am suspect to this being a site hack....which sucks!

Something funny is definitely going on...I've never been a member of VSE and I'm banned! And when you click on "Contact the Board Administrator for more information" the address it sends to is [email protected]!

Not me - still permanently banned. I'm in Canada by the way.

If anyone can actually login, please start a new topic there advising the site administrator that many many people cannot login and are seeing a screen that tells them they are banned.

I just logged in successfully and then logged back out. I got the "permanently banned" message for the last couple of days as well. Apparently some folks are still "banned" but can log in via cell phone but not computer (or vice versa). Hope they get it sorted out. Will probably change my PW just as a precaution. Cheers.

Either there was a temporal lapse or I found exactly one IP so far from which I could access the board... but my home IPs and those of my servers are blocked too.
I do not know the technical details but my assumption is that either someone decided to issue an overly aggressive ban on any IP subnets seen during the recent spam attack, or they made a typo when entering the ban and accidentally banned more subnets than desired. Either way, I heavily doubt the forum is "hacked". A hacker would be much more likely to do something different,e.g. embedding malware rather than annoying members by banning their IP subnets.
