Wow been on a trip for the last 3 days and was not following things so sad to see this. A true master. Had no idea he was 91 and no I do not think he looked it . I would have guessed 70’s. I hope to live that long. I can only hope to achieve a greatness that was his.

R.I.P. Al you played such a important role in all of our influences even when some where not even aware .

Look at the credits on a lot of records and your name was there for engineering.
Another true Great we have lost.

I had the privilege of knowing Al through a close personal friend.

He always spoke to me like I was a friend he was fond of.

He had that kind of sweetness and class... made me want to be a sweet, classy guy. I'm still working on it.

Thanks for the incredible example you set in my life, Al... and, as I'm sure you know by now, in the lives of so many others.

Rest... soar... love you, brother... see you again when it's time... amen.

Oh no. Been mostly off of GS this past week - this is a shock.

There are the great ones, and they are so few. I agree with a previous poster, no one was his equal. Longevity, the history - a true legend. Safe to say we will never see anyone quite like this again. Al Schmitt was the "real deal".

Old school, no .....university, and an inspiration for so many. Al you will be so missed, RIP.
