Oh I really hope these won't have the issues the Wolf had.
If not, bloody shame. Still get cool point just for trying.

They posted the press blurb in Gearslutz's NAMM forum...but linking there does not seem to work so find you're own way, blah.

i really don't get it. Why make a 2 octave POLY? It's awesome. but, it's so not logical to make a 2 OCTAVE poly 4 voice!? ITS AWESOME THOUGH!

On closer inspection, it's like they strapped four of the Rhythm Wolf's bass synth together to make the Timbre Wolf, and the Tom Cat is just a modded Rhythm Wolf in disguise. It's all cheap thought

because it's just 4 of the bass synth from the wolf bolted together, any more than 2 octaves and it will be way out of tune

You can come up with plenty of applications for a 2 octave bass synth right? Now increase the voices to 4 and well, sonic possibilities increase dramatically. More complex drones and playing rifts with overlapping release etc. There is a market for something like this for sure

the whole concept of polyphony is so you can play with both hands, on this synth you can't play high notes as well as bass, so whats the point of the poly aspect...unless you want to sequence 4 mono synths and in that case just make a 4 voice module ffs..

The bass part was my least fav part of the Rhythm Wolf. But I always wished they'd replaced the filter (which is pretty poor) with a pitch mod and made it a tom instead of bass. So I am definitely gonna nab the Tomcat!

I'm interested in mainly drum machines from this NAMM and so far the only one I've seen that might be worth a look is the TOM CAT...sigh..

I guess with the 2-octave keyboard that they intend for you not to use the keyboard to play but to input notes into the sequencer?
