Best vintage synth repair/restoration in NJ

Can any of you located in NJ refer me to a reliable synth repair guy? I need some work done on expensive vintage synths so it is crucial that the business is trustworthy to deal with.

The Analog Lab is in Long Island City. If you are anywhere near there it is worth the trip to drop off your synths. Jeff, who was the keyboard tech for Pink Floyd in the 70s, may be one of the best synth techs in the world. Completely trustworthy to deal with. The Analog Lab

I haven't had anything repaired here myself, but check out threewavemusic.com - Keyboard speciality store

Yes indeed I have been looking at 3 Wave Music since it seems the proprietor was the infamous Dr. Sound from NYC who renamed and relocated to NJ. Anyone care to share experiences with his business?

Analog Lab is also an option, and like you said, the guy's credentials cannot be understated (expensive).

I think if you search the archive I believe there is some discussion of 3wave in terms of repair. I've only purchased a synth there, though the experience was good.

Yes, indeed I have been searching a lot. The overall reviews are mixed, some say they are good, some say they are worse and even scam artists, eg:

^ That worries me big time

I've been to Three Wave. Yes, he is the guy from Dr. Sound! I've had mostly good experiences there and he's fairly local to me so he was the obvious choice for repairs. I've had several items repaired by him. Erdi, PM me for details on my last experience. Oh, and if you haven't been there, he's got TONS of analog gear waiting to be purchased! If you want to talk about gear porn, this is where they'd shoot the film!!!

being based in NYC/NJ i've used most of them at some point...and hands down..it's all about The Analog Lab in NYC. Jeff and the crew there are amazing, courteous, knowledgeable beyond belief, and show a true love of all things analog. When any one of my children get sick they're whom I call without a hesitation or doubt. They brought my OBX to near nirvana better than new status...my ppg wave back to normalcy and a slew of other repairs. HIGHLY recommended.
