All of these pictures came from "The Daft Club" so credits to those guys.

Daft Punk - Rollin' & Scratchin' Live @ Los Angeles 1997 - YouTube

My main question to be honest is how Daft Punk used to perform live. I read on "The Daft Club" that this type of set is now known as a "Live PA," I researched a bit about that but I didn't find anything that really explained a whole lot.

So basically, did Daft Punk remake everything live or was it controlled by some sort of MIDI clock? Also, how was all of this hooked up to each other, I could take a guess; the mixer controlled everything and the equipment was connected up to there and is then sent to the speakers?

Also, the AKAI sampler and the MMT-8 was for what exactly?

An MMT8 is a sequencer which can drive other gear. The sampler is a good replacement if you don't want to lug half a dozen drum machines with you.

This shows that things can be relatively straightforward - so if the originals were made like this then all you have to do is take the gear to the gig and perhaps adapt a few things so you get a bit more fereedom. No rocket science required!
