I'm really thinking about getting the System 90 as my first foray into modular.

There's that but it's something to look forward to - I've got that much time to learn the A4 and maybe save for an Rytm.

Sold my Bitstream today, and getting one of these instead;

I hated assigning CC's to the Bitstream, it's supposedly a lot easier on this one. Also ordered a new CF card for my Octatrack (32gig) and some new knobs for my Machinedrum, but that hardly counts as gear, hehehe.

I'm gonna run anything and everything through the WA76. So far I've tried it on vocals, drums, guitar and synths. It actually sounded best on synths, adding some really nice drive and extra mojo. (And that's not my synth bias talking)

I must say, yes, yes it IS fat!

And here it is with his other rack brethren:

I need to get this room in order soon...

I've print a little table that helps a lot, like code 11 does this, code 12 does that etc.. Check out the mono modes. They can be super cool for basslines.

I assume you got latest OS in there, right?

1.08 is in there, yep. I've already read the manual quite a few times - as I always do.

I do too. But for some reason i was not lucky with understanding how MKS-70 thinks. Particularly those different modes, or when i need mono and individual out, etc. Something always get stuck or i forgot to set balance correctly etc.

Nice one! I have spent less than a month with my JX-10se and it has already wiggled its way in to my heart and appeared in two tracks.

Super excited for the Fred mod!

That is a great synth and with the PG-800 I would imagine it's even more powerful.

Unfortunately I had to sell mine because it was too big and heavy to travel with, but it sure did sound great!

Enjoy!

What does the save button do? Does it actually save sequence data or just settings?

hah it finally arrived, and it is MINT beautiful specimen..

i feel sentimental.. this synth was my bread n butter for many, many years.

congratulations.

well, bk on topic of new gear.. i picked up my JP4 and, as expected, it needs work. now i started having second thoughts as i already have a full roster of things getting fixed (OBX with Don Solaris, P5 rev2 with Roginator) and not sure if i have the time and willpower to deal with one more project. tho this one is functionally in best shape of the three. gonna decide these days if were gonna fix it, or i'll let it go.

Eventually these will get fixed.

But at current purchase/month ratio you will need a larger studio space within a few months.

Seriously....

hahah yeah sounds like it, but in reality most gear i got is replacing/being financed with other gear (selling my wizard3 for midas etc). more like a state of flux than shopping spree - stuff on the way out: one of the digi synths i bought to tryout in february (NM or Q). formant modular soon, probably Rhodes (tho this will be replaced with a suitcase eventually). ive already put Jupiter 4 for sale. maybe sh101.

yeah space is starting to be the problem. i could fit more keys, built-in wall standers etc. but it would decrease ergonomics, and even moreso the acoustic properties of the mixroom. also, don't like the "museum" vibe at all, it distracts me from work. tho i do have room left for racks and outboard to complete my new (old) OTB system.

and with that thought here's what i am getting instead of one of the digitals or JP4, its been payed for yesterday and its already in the mail.

and you and Roginator are to blame , lending me your units to try out (i'll send you the bill ), and naturally our friend Marko Ettlich:

What is it that's making you have second thoughts about the 512's?
