IIRC, The Virus has a preset marked <<Input>> which is used for this.

Thanks for the answer, but i meant how do i actually connect my waldorf with the virus, if i wanna use the virus as a sound card. Like "what cable needs to go where"

Sorry for the dumb question btw. I'm a hardware noob and i don't speak english that well.

I don't own either, but I'm guessing the Virus.....at least my Virus B does, has audio inputs (L/mono & R).

I'm guessing you have no separate audio interface? Might want to think about getting one, no?

So the audio is being converted by the Virus, and into your computer via USB, right?

Pulse audio outputs --------> Virus audio inputs.

Midi?

Midi out (Virus) ------>Midi in (Pulse)
Midi out (Pulse) ------>Midi in (Virus)

Sounds like you need a pair of MIDI cables and some TRS cables.

It has one that says Input L&R, but it doesn't say mono though?

So i need both midi and TRS jack at the same time or what?
Thanks for replying btw!

The TRS carry audio from the Pulse........but to tell the Pulse to make audio, you need to send MIDI data to it. I'm thinking you can route the Pulse audio through the Virus to use it like an effects processor, right? Is your Virus a KB or desktop? I'm guessing KB, so you will play the Pulse with your Virus keyboard.......the Virus triggering the pulse with the MIDI data you create by hitting keys.

I'm guessing your Virus is connected via USB, so you don't use MIDI cables, and haven't needed to until now. They aren't expensive. Go buy a pair and like I said...

Virus MIDI out ------> Pulse MIDI in

Virus MIDI in <------- Pulse MIDI out

TRS Audio out (Pulse) ------> TRS Audio in (Virus)

If everything else is set up like you normally have it......and you Virus is set up to process external audio, you should be set.

.......don't worry about when I mentioned mono, it is implied, but some devices have that labelled.

Good to hear.
Currently my set up is like this:

- Virus goes to computer via USB.
- Speakers goes to virus output 1 L&R (I'm using it as my sound card)'
- MIDI Keyboard plugged in the computer via USB.

I have two MIDI cables already, and i just ordered some more TRS jacks.

I'll be back if there is any problems.
