these are cool, and explains the recent sale of the spark...which i took advantage of...paid 359 for my spark

i think the sparkle is pretty nice for the price, but imho it kind of destroys why i love the spark so much...the real time sound manipulation

without those three knobs per pad, it wouldn't be that great honestly

Damn the Minilab looks great, but I never buy 25 key boards. More keys please.

i love the spark and think that the new sparkle pales in comparison...

i wouldn't care about the spark if it didn't have so many knobs

Very tempted by the mini lab. Had the analog player and it's a quality build.

Frankly for $99 US, it's like a mega late Christmas present to yourself. Even if you think you won't like Arturia because of all the crap that gets spewed around here towards certain music companies, this won't sound like a $100 Casio.

The spark demo sounds great. Wish there was a software only version if it.

the closest you can get to that is this Arturia - Musical Instruments | Intro

but they cripple some of the features on it so meh

I was under the impression you could buy the Spark software by itself - I don't know why anyone would to though tbh, the sounds seem pretty standard to me.

Good point, Kaoz. But at this point all I have are the standard TR sounds that come with Logic and my hardware Sequential Drumtrax. Would like to expand my electronic drum pallet. I notice now that something called "Spark Vintage" is included in the V Collection.

I guess another option would be Toontracks' Electronica EZX to use in Superior Drummer.

But the full blown Spark or SparkLE looks pretty incredible to me, especially if it works seamlessly in Logic.

I just placed my pre-order for SparkLE. $224 from Musiciansfriend until Feb 4th. I already have Maschine but this is more portable and seems to have a slightly different workflow. I'm excited to test it out.

SparkLE Video

A co-worker of mine made this video about the SparkLE. I think it looks pretty cool for the price:

I assume if you're going to use these only as controllers that you won't need internet access and that the copy protection is only for the software (which I don't care about)?

Sad that there are no actual MIDI ports =(

I have the full spark and i think the sparkle is worth it if you dont have the big one. It's definitely a good pick.

The minilab has an amazing price. $99 for controller + a very good vst full of presets. if you start music and don't have anything else it's the way to go imo.

I really don't need another midi keyboard but I like the minilab softsynth combo having all the controls automap.

I like the minilab a lot, enough encoders, some velocity sensitive pads, easy way to change banks. Could be a winner for a portable set up .

I will wait to see if some comes up with a script for ableton live.
