Probably the best sounding workstation I've ever heard to date, but deary it's such an ugly beast, would make a great master controller though.

I agree, it's really a great synth with a lot of power. I should have added the word "realistic" to my statement. However, I've made no attempts to create realistic organs and pianos now that I think about it. My comments concerned the stock patches only. I tend to get lost in the analogy fat sounds that the KK can produce.

I don't blame you for that, the exact same thing happens to me every time I switch it on heh

Would love to see Polysix & DW8000, and ARP 2600, CS80 perhaps?
Won't happen either but instead of new type of filters I'd love to see either in this or next is different oscillator behaviours simulated... also more LFOs per voice would be very nice and not that hard to implement even with current interface

Random find: apparently Soundtower released a KK Win/Mac editor nearly two weeks ago. Price is $49.99, but I think the demo is free, and it looks pretty complete. Bringing this up since I know that's something people wanted.

The alternative is the Patch Morpher app, but that's iPad-only as far as I'm aware.

I'm very surprised korg never released their own version for free with the synth like they did with the microkorg xl, that one is perfect, sound tower version and at a cost, hmmm. Hmmmm. Hmmmm.

The ION was done right!

Just got a KK and must say, the filter models are very good. Overall, it is very weighty and impressive for a VA.

Should’ve had a pair of envelope knob sets instead of one set, no tiny pushbuttons that felt fragile, and a better keyboard. Sound engine was OK but I would have liked proper reverb and delay.

Also, endless dials sound like a good idea but aren’t.

Chassis was tank like, 2 mod wheels instead of one, 16 emulated filters, 3 osc.
At the time, the most analog sounding VA.
Now, the system 8 is. Both could have had more polyphony though.
