It's taking a lot of willpower to tell myself that I'll get more mileage spending half as much on Eurorack instead. This stuff is all so sexy.

I sense its going to be similar to the tulip craze. This level of activity in this tiny market cant go on forever.

I would agree. In addition you will get the digital FX section with the bid reduction!!! One of the most appealing things of the PPG was to have real analog filters that work the dirt of your digital waveform "artifacts"! No sure though if the filter is up to the task. I hope they tweak the filter over the Prophet 08.

No... the controllers in the sound-generation system β€” the envelopes, the LFOs, and the Sample & Hold β€” are all digital, as is the oscillator tuning (although not the oscillators themselves). This makes the Andromeda a hybrid analogue/digital synth, much like, for example, the Sequential Prophet T8. However, the signal path is analogue."
I meant fully analog signal path; whereas the P12 would not be assuming it is using digital oscs.

BY FAR, the best looking DSI synth next to the Mopho Keys. It's very pretty.

Geeee, that's 48 oscillators for only $3000! That is 16 more than the Andromeda A6 has. Add the four envelopes per voice, this synth will hit the competition very hard. IMO this is an unbeatable price! At this price level, who still wants to buy a VA like the Solaris, Virus, Q+, etc.?

Too much circle jerking in here so let me rain on the parade.

DSI synths sound soooooooooo boring. Nice build though.

Nah. Ugly part is that prices of new synths are going down, and incredible new synths appear. Bunch of my friends that were 100% ITB few years ago are going with hybrid setups now simply because it became really affordable and effortless.

That wasn't the exactly the point I was making, and I do agree these are good synths. The difference is, they have now a viable analog competition.

What a fvcking cool dude.

As a Prophet-10 owner I may have to get one of these just to save face.

Okay, that sounds nothing like a P08... I could hear some similarities between it and the Evolver though, only much tamer in comparison...

Analog and digital prejudices are as bad as each other. This is one of the most powerful and largest-sounding synthesizers anyone has produced for years.

Beautiful!
For some reason I believe I can hear certain sonic affinities with my Ensoniq ESQm, and the new Prophet should on paper be also capable of so much more...I like what I hear so far, and am hoping they will offer a rack or tabletop version.

best regards
Massimo

I disagree. Its not prejudice but a matter of taste. I don't think this is as powerful than running a high end vst through two analog filters.

Backwards would be doing the same thing over and over again (I'm looking straight at you Moog :P), don't know, but I'd rather have interesting hybrid designs over the same tried out analog subtractive architecture, don't we have enough of those already?...

I just think of this as a "synth". Not some throw-back analog.

I really like how there is glide for each OSC.
I'm also really surprised that it actually looks good.
