Control your Emu EIV sampler as a vst/au inside your daw!

For the last few months i've been getting into Ctrlr, a midi-plugin development environment wich makes it do-able to make custom interfaces for controlling midi hardware.

Not finding an EOS panel anywhere in the database i started making my own, and i am now very happy to report that all the long hours of coding are starting to pay off

Controls are available for:

-Preset select
-Voice select
-Sample select
-Samplezone select
-filtertype
-cutoff
-resonance
-cords 00 to 03 (source, destination, amount)
-Amplitude envelope
-Lfo 1
-tuning
-chorus amount & width
-samplezone root/low/high key

This panel should work on all devices of the E4 product line:

E4
E64
E64FX
E4K
E4XT
E4X
E6400 (aka "classic")
E4XT Ultra
E6400 Ultra

It is still a work in progress, a lot of parameters to be added, but it is already very usable.

Fresh version!
  • under the hood changes.
  • All parameters now available in host
  • Moved keyzones parameters to tuning tab, made more sense to put them there imo.
  • Sample selection now working with minor bug; sample name and number are not always updated correctly when changing voices, stepping up/down the samplezones fixes this. Working on fix but may take a while.
  • Amp envelope layout changed, envelope graphics on top and bigger.
  • Multimode channel and preset select.

Fantastic!

I'm still on OSX 10.4.11 so I think I can't use it for now. Or is there a pre-Intel version of Ctrl that I don't know of?

Only intel, ppc is not supported. I will ask on the ctrlr forums if it is possible to build from the same sourcecode, but i doubt it.

****edit****

Found this info from the dev of ctrlr:

Quote:
the binaries i build are Intel only (32 and 64 bits in one binary). and build with a compatibility SDK for OSX 10.5

It seems something is causing trouble for some people with the panels after uploading to the Ctrlr site as attachment :smashed:

From now on i will keep the latest version of the panel + an win installer of the latest recommended Ctrlr version here

If you don't already use dropbox and decide to make an account please consider doing so by using this link, i get extra free storage this way.

PS: You do not need to create a dropbox account to be able to download the files, these are freely available.

I have started a forum to centralise all things regarding this project. This will make it easier for all of us since all news and questions/answers will be in one place.

Find it here:
The E-mu Eos sampler controller forum • Portal

This does not mean i will not check up on this thread anymore, but if you use this panel or have any questions about it, please consider registering @ the abovementioned board.

Cheerz,

Hec

Update time!
Testers for v2 wanted

I am getting v2 on the rails, but development is slower than anticipated due to the code being better, but requiring more work for each control. I do have a working "engine" and a handful of controls implemented, and would like to start testing "in the wild" to see if it works as expected for everyone.

You can find the beta panel and a text document with some info and tester's guidelines here:
http://goo.gl/f2CwH

The panel will be updated every once in a while, i will bump this thread & higlight the changes from time to time.

Cheerz,

Hec
