MIDI controller software for Access Virus?

Hi All

Loving the virus, but scrolling through the menu to assign things is a bore.
Is there any software available that sets out the virus like say Massive, then sends the ssettings to the Virus?
Apologies if it's a stupid question.

There used to be a special version of SoundDiver for the Virus B. I made programming the Virus (and especially my old Virus Rack) a lot more pleasant.

You might still be able to get it from Access if you ask them. If not, I MIGHT still have the installer on my old computer.

I tried this years ago and it was awful. A complete waste of money and no demo.

I don't know whether it's improved over the years but caution is advised.

As far as I know the classic is a B with a different paint job.

There is a Virus C panel available for Ctrlr. Most of the controls are backwards compatible, there were a few on my rack classic that I had to menu dive for, but most of them work.

downloaded it but I can't get it to do anything. Do you have to have both midi in and out, isn't midi out enough?

When I tried it it seemed alright but YMMV. The CTRLR editor was full of bugs when I tried it so I really can't recommend that. Maybe it's improved, I don't know since I gave up on it.

I imagine you can save the MIDI patches from the Virus to your PC if you have Virus > MIDI > PC.
Question is, how do you hook up a MIDI keyboard, Virus, AND software?

There is an Access panel listed on the Ctrlr site. Since the app is free, might as well give it a shot.

I downloaded and installed this one, I get the same problems.
Failed to update DDB: Response parse error: Syntax error:"<!doctype html>"
Does the virus need to be connected to the computer for the software to be able to download the device?
I can't imagine it does.
My Virus isn't here right now, but you would think I could get a control panel for it downloaded.

Download the nightly build 1184 from the nightly link on the download page. I haven't had issues with the panel other than the sysex not working(meaning those parameters have to be tweaked from the device).

It's cool, I downloaded the Virus B panel manually, then pointed the program to the file and boom.
Layout looks good, a little disappointed with the colour scheme.
I would have thought it would be black and red to match the synth?
Maybe I'm being fussy.
So, yet to hook the actual Synth up yet but I'll keep posted.

You should be able to easily change the color scheme using Ctrlr in the edit pane.

My HTML editing skills leave a lot to be desired.
I tried building my own website once, looked like a car wreck.

Does anyone know how I should hook up this gear?
Virus Desktop, MIDI controller, MIDI interface.
My guess is,
MIDI controller OUT > MIDI interface IN
MIDI interface OUT > Virus IN
Is that correct or is there a better way?
Bear in mind I have a MIDI control panel program for the Virus.

No HTML skills are needed to edit Ctrlr panels.
You can also try asking for help at the ctrlr forum.

I'm waiting for MIDI cables in the post.
Will the ctrlr software adjust the Virus in realtime or so you have to make changes then send them?

It should work in real time, but actually I haven't used it - just been scanning the forum & reading the docs (hoped I'd convert a Virus Snow panel to support the TI, but this involves programming, and there are no tutorials for Ctrlr, so I'm just waiting for someone to do it

Changes are realtime.

Also, why wouldn't you just use the TI software to control the TI?

It' not a Ti, it's a Classic. Boreg was just trying to help, I think he assumed I had a Ti.
Does anyone have a reply on the MIDI hook up question above?
After some research, I now think it should be
MIDI controller OUT > THRU Virus
Virus OUT > IN Interface
Interface OUT > Virus IN
I need to send info from interface to Virus, but can I save patches from Virus back to the PC?
If not then I guess I can do without the Virus sending MIDI to the interface.
So in that case it should simply be
MIDI controller OUT > THRU Virus
Virus OUT > IN Interface
