Looking for an X-Files Synth Sound...

It's NOT Whistling Joe from the Proteus 2. Anyway...it's a sound that I heard on a Yamaha TX-802 20 years ago that i recognized from the X-Files TV show. It has a slow attack and a weird harmonic spectrum. I started hearing it in the background music during season 2. Does anyone know the name of this patch?

FM Growth maybe? Though I don't know if that would qualify as "weird" spectra.

You could listen to all the presets of these synths over at synthmania.
They were all used by Mark Snow.

E-mu Morpheus
Proteus 1, 2 & 3
Wavestation SR
Korg M1

Not sure if MS had his Roland S-760 as early as season two.

Could also be from his Synclavier FM or Sample Voices.

sorry to bump this thread, but since i am revisiting the X files, i noticed that the Emu Morpheus(patch "Epic movement") and Wavestation SR are full of sounds which you can hear throughout the series
harps, piano's, strings, pads, percussion
i just love the atmospheric sounds

The X-Files is coming back next year as a mini series. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the music this time around. Mark Snow? Who knows?

PS- I still haven't found the name of that patch yet. Probably time to try again seeing how its been two years...
