As I said before, don't forget Firehouse studio:

King Kong - Babylon - YouTube

Why can't I link to videos using closed youtube brackets? Hmm

I've seen Dean Frasier and the Firehouse Crew back up Sizzla and Luciano and I'm almost sure another time as well. I think everything was played live, nothing sequenced (the first time was at the Garbervile Commuity Center in Humboldt County so I can't guarantee anything memory-related).

The only live (non-MC/Toaster/Guy with a boat horn) reggae act I have ever seen that had an electronic/dj element was Dub Syndicate -- and there is a Bill Laswell and Adrian Sherwood influence there. I've been to a fair amount of reggae festivals and shows and generally it is just a rompler for keys.

Burning Spear Living Dub vol.2 has one track with synths on it. I'll have to look for it.

[BTW I do like the Bill Laswell ambient remix Bob Marley album from the 90s Dreams of Freedom.

Cool, that must have been nice. I would guess it was relatively recent though? Firehouse was Jamaican dancehall, all sequenced, in the late 80s, and that King Kong record I posted has a sequenced bassline and a drum machine, following in the wake of the Sleng Teng thing.

Dean Frasier was brought into King Tubby's studio as studio musician and artist by King Jammy (who produced Sleng-Teng). So that probably gave him use of the Fireheouse name. King Jammy also produced Sizzla -- who was backed by the Firehouse Crew which probably meant that they were musicians picked by King Jammy as well as a marketing strategy to get the older people to the shows. The shows I saw were in the mid-90s.

As an aside, around that time I think that a lot of people, at least in the states, thought they were going to a reggae concert and ended up at a Shabba Ranks show.
