Syncing Voyager To Ableton

I'm trying to use Ableton as a Master clock to sync to my Voyager and Mopho via MIDI to USB and I'm getting nowhere fast. Basically I want to use Ableton to program sequences to be sent to the Voyager but I'm not hearing anything. I know it's not the cable because I tested the Mopho with it's included software sound editor and those two programs synced perfectly. I'm a noob when it comes to syncing external synths to the computer. I'm running Windows XP if that's of any use. What settings do I need to have in Ableton to get the ball rolling?

Create an external instrument track.

Set the midi channels on your Ableton track and Voyager.

Enable monitor in.

You should hear it.

You should also see the blinking midi lights every time you hit a note.

Both. The MIDI light isn't coming on and I hear nothing.

any result on this? I'm having the same issue: not seeing midi light being fired.
Voyager isn't an option as a control surface either.
Tried USB to Midi, plus also running midi from the Metric Halo Lio-8.
No joy sadly...

I solved this by using an SL88 keyboard to trigger the Moog Voyager direct to midi, then routing audio back through the Metric Halo Lio-8. Using Live v10.1.7.
Good luck everyone.
