Soundcraft Notepad 124 | Sweetwater.com

Hey guys, I am really interested in a simple little mixer for my live rig. I am using a load of analog drum machines and sizers. I would like to have some FX send capabilities so I can run different units through a certain effect via mixer routing as opposed to having to patch that unit through the effect manually. Would I be able to effectively do this with the Soundcraft Notepad? Any other high quality small mixers with effects sends? Any super slutty ones?

modular construction , usb i/o , nice eq , nice preamps , low noise , sounds pretty good

I can't recommend these enough ... great EQ's and Pre's plus the sends your looking for...used to own a Ghost and this definitely shares some of its attributes... buy a patchbay for expandability

Is the 3-band EQ adequate? I'm debating between a 2-bus and a 4-bus.

4 is better but 3 is ok

the zed eq is very nice , 3 bands of nice eq beats 4 of bad eq

4 bus is handy if you have outboard but if you dont you can multi track from aux outputs of direct outs if your thinking of doing that

4 bus mixer with 4 band eq is getting into the higher end though , nothing like the notepad 124 you posted with its stereo busses and no faders

I am trying to think of a cheaper , smaller , under 12 channel mixer with 4 band semi parametric eq and 4 busses but I cant ........

That soundcraft spirit is awful nice- the m4 particularly is a great one for me but it has some excess features, like adat.

Here is the perfect mixer for this application- perhaps you guys could helpe find just what model is the one.

- 4 channels
- stereo with monitoring
- at least 1 fxsend
- FADERS and mute/solo buttons.

Most of these tight little mixers are missing faders and mute buttons.

if its within your budget, then you could buy and if you expand you have enough inputs, I haven't used the Zed series but I used to own an Allen & Heath GS3 and the parametric EQ on that was sweet sweet sweet, having said that for the monney the 3 bands you get on the M series is very nice.

I say if you can afford it then why not... otherwise I suppose you have the mackie's, personally I prefer the sound of the Soundcraft Desks thoughthumbsup

I used a Notepad 124 live and in my studio for various things and it's an excellent little mixer for the price. Feels like good quality and has very low noise and just the features I needed. I did a lot of research before I chose this one. The thing that sealed it was the metering, which is better than anything else in its price range.

I have just ordered the soundcraft 102 and i'm wondering how to connect this straight into my imac as i dont know if its usb or not, also is this the best idea for monitoring as i have KRK RP6's connect to it via xlr... and does this make the sound quality worse? I literally have no idea?
Do i need a soundcard or can i just plug the mixer in to my imac with just a standard split cable thing. You know the little jack that goes in the mac which splits into two? HELP ME!
