which EQ for your hihats?

I'm not completely satisfied with the EQ's I have for on my hihats, which EQ do you use to shape the sound of your hihats?

You mean the 512 really tucks the highs in when driven?

i use waves ssl eq on hats (or pretty much on everything)
however i cut couple of db's after 8khz, and cut/boos around 3khz to define the tone depends on the sound of my hatz. and that's just my style of working with hats in the mix

I mostly agree with a previous poster. Pick the right sound and then HPF away anything not noticeable in the complete mix.

I use some LPF as well if they are bright.

There's many more options available within synthesis for shaping hats... EQ is one of my last choices.

ALL that said, I do like API for 2db boosts when it's right... nothing extreme.

My rule of thumb is to cut w/ digital, slight boost w/ analog. That's been working for me.

cheers-
