I respectfully disagree, while the is a phaser-like ebb and flow to the sound, it does not sound like a phaser is doing that

So much going on it's hard to identify.
Sounds like a fast delay and some flanging, but it could be some kind of fx plug-in with a similar end result.

Guitar+flanger+tremolo or snare drum from drum machine+flanger or synth LFO+flanger. I'm leaning more towards the snare+flanger.

I definitely agree that the main beat of the track is a snare pattern with heavy flanging, but you imagine the chords are just a guitar with flanger and tremelo? Is the flanger giving it that sort of fade in quality? Thanks.

my comment was for the background snare drum track. i read too fast. for the chords, it's hard to say like Chris says. Regarding the chords, maybe they're a synth with a slow attack envelope going through an overdriven guitar amp? Not sure really. Sorry

We all know that retro-engineering sounds is almost impossible sometimes...

Guitar > Flanger > Phaser ... this could be an option to me .

Plus there is an IK Amplitube that just gives a trickster Mix approach, helping

to get such mind-bobbling results ... just my 0.02 $
