Making the jump to Triggers.

Hi there:

I am thinking that getting a drum module and triggers would be a better alternative than slowly gathering a drum mic collection, perhaps cheaper?

I would love to mic an acoustic kit but I don't have access to any decent sounding rooms.

So I am not familiar with what brands and gear are out there for this sort of thing.

Any info would be great!

IMO, get a real kit and if you have a large diaphram condenser use that as an over head to record the kit. Then you can slowly get more mics... a used SM57 $50-60 for your snare, a beta52 or d12 for the kick $100-110.

The drum triggers can be plauged with timing issues. I have a drum trigger and I don't use it as much as I thought because of this.
