Your Undying Slut-Lust

Ok, here we go... Lets hear some of those pieces which you've lusted over for ages, but may never obtain... I don't want to hear boring things a nice new patchbay... i want expensive, seductive pieces of gear...

I'll start with just one word...

  • old Neve full of 1073s, 2254s etc.. completely refurbished, fitted with "flying faders"
  • Steinway B, with a nice big room full of diffusors, buncha Schoeps and other boutique mics for capturing this beauty. most expressive instrument i have ever played.
  • Yamaha CS-80.. well, sort of. i had one, but had to sell it as i really needed cash, and im not likely to ever buy it again, as its too expensive and will be even more.
  • Moog 55, refurbished expanded with 960s and a few 901 oscillators my forever childhood dream.
  • 24ch Studer 827 with new heads, Dolby S, tapes, including a serviceman that visits annualy.
  • Mellotron M400, with all standard tapesets.
  • VCS3/Synthi A classic beautiful sound, but too damn expensive.

id like to add, stuff that is quite improbable but not impossible one day, given the right circum$tances and crazy state of mind:
  • Fairlight II-X system
  • PPG 2.3 w WavetermB
  • EMT 140 Stereo

Yes, I have a few 200 modules, but would kill for an entire system (in good working order).
That would probably top my lust list.

yes, they are fantastic.
I would equally value helios and cadac. A friend has an incredible sounding vintage Cadac desk. Of the three (EMI, Helios, Cadac) i think I would lust after the Helios most.

Steinway D or Fazioli concert grand.

API Legacy - 96 channel would be fine.

A stack of Lavry gold AD/DA's - I think 48 would suffice

2 X Studer A-80 mkIV 24 track tape machines - in 'unused' condition

A host of guitars/drums and Italian acoustic bass (pre-1800's)

2000 sq. ft. studio space buildout - no expense spared re: acoustics/treatment/aesthetic

otherwise, a studio facility like Paisley Park would do:

Not as expensive as some of the other wishes here, but since this does not exist (yet):

Creamware (or now Sonic Core) ASB with an authentic OB-X emulation.

I would get one immediately if it is as good as the MiniMax or Prodyssey and hits the market at a reasonable price.

1. A dedicated, acoustically treated space in a quiet, beautiful setting.
2. Someone to come and professionally cable everything, no ground loops, everything to patchbays, no visible cables.
3. Gear: H8000FW, Bricasti, a bunch of outboard compressors and pres, Octopus, Solaris, Buchla and Serge panels.
4. Time to enjoy it all..

A Haken Continuum + Symbolic Sound Pacarana combo. I was all set to buy this year, but unstable times in the economy means I might have to put this off a few years.

What I would really like, though, is enough money to quit my job and take up music full time (without having to worry about supporting myself with my music, so I can just explore the music I want to).
