Hi, This effect you hear is "PUMPING" the high freq. sound is "OVER-COMPRESSION" You get this by Using a compressor with a Ratio of 1:5/1:8 a very high threshold (-15/-25) and play with the release and attack times till you hear this sound. Don't forget to use the makeup gain to make up what is gone because of the compression. Personally I don't think those kind of kicks work very well on the dance-floor, because this high freq. sound works very annoying on high volumes. There are lots of Goa Trance tracks with nice normal kicks in it. (And they work better on high volume)

These should prove helpful for that high end snap. The low end sounds like half of the more glitchy samples in the Battery 3 library. Layer them up and you should get what you're looking for.

A psy kick is basically a rapidly descending sine wave. The freeware Stomper is perfect for making this sort of sounds. The nice thing is that you can change the waveform for dirtier sound, add white (or filtered) noise, combine several oscillators etc - an endless source of original kicks. Just my 0.02$.

[this is my first post here btw. Been lurking for several months, reading this fine forum daily.]

Stomper is a pretty killer program. Def good for samples.
