Evening, Slutz!
Just a little bag of questions about the Keith McMillen K-Board, smaller brother of the QuNexus that I'm tempted to purchase.
1. Is it basically a QuNexus without the CV thing?
2. Does it do the step sequencer thing that I've seen demo'ed on youtube with a QuNexus.
3. Any good or frustrating experiences you can share?
I just bought a silly little kiddie baby grand about knee-high and 40 cm wide with a set of unusable squeeky internal sounds. I'm planning to rip it of its electronic guts and just replace the keybed with a Keith McMillen K-Board instead which is pretty much the exact size to fit in there. I could then play hardware synths and plugins via USB and a laptop. Now you might say that's a stupid idea and will make me look like a complete idiot. Erm, yep. Thats's the concept. It's a comedy show. I'd love the foolish looks when at the same time it sounds good.
There isn't one single midi controller that is really great, I would prefer to get either a synth or a controller with great keys but without knobs/sliders.
Infinite Response is working on a new controller with poly aftertouch which is supposed to be available first quarter of next year, much cheaper than the folding magnesium unit they developed some years ago.
The OS will be open source so people can hack away, and it's modular for different octave lengths.
Also will have slots in the top for people to develop add-ons. Should be interesting.
