I actually went to buy one around the start of covid, I think I even mentioned it here somewhere in a thread. I sent my broken Pro3 back and thought I'd get a REV2 with the cash. So went into the store that said they had one in stock, even after I confirmed it with them on the phone, I get there and this surly prick who couldn't be bothered to serve me said there wasn't one in stock... So I asked him could he please go look as I was told there was one in stock, this peanut, I swear he was gone for 40 mins, so comes back dragging his knuckles on the ground and says oh we can pre order one for you but we don't know when we will have stock again.

I was so pissed off. Went home and thought about it some more, couldn't find one anywhere in Australia, there was a module in Perfect circuit but I couldn't be bothered so went and bought a Subsequent 37 locally instead. Happy with Subsequent 37 it's amazing. So when I went in to buy the REV 2 yesterday I told the clerk that story and he was really nice and friendly about it, we made a joke about etc.. goes off to see if they have one and hoorah comes back 5 mins later with one under his arm. I was very pleased no doubt.

I posted this in the June thread since it's still the 30th for me but I'll post it here too... it's not going to arrive until July anyway.

Just ordered one of these for my C64:

1) Jomox MBase 11 or MFB-503 – what’s the right answer?
the right answer: YES PLEASE !
3rd attempt to buy MFB-503 was successful.

2) ̶H̶E̶L̶P̶!̶!̶ ̶T̶H̶E̶Y̶ ̶A̶R̶E̶ ̶T̶R̶Y̶I̶N̶G̶ ̶T̶O̶ ̶B̶A̶N̶K̶R̶U̶P̶T̶ ̶M̶E̶!̶!̶ ̶
bought Yamaha FB-01 in excellent condition.
will rock for EBM as sort of rhythm machine to pair with analog kick – this little beast is 8-timbral, it has That Bass, it has plenty of other cool basses, and of course it can do bells, banging, ringing and other clangorous stuff.

Just received it ... Carrier arrived escorted by a discrete but watchful security detail. ID, signature and fingerprints check were required to take delivery.

I got a Casio VZ-8M. I am intrigued by its alternative take on what FM-like synthesis can be like, and I've liked the demos I've found. However, I don't know which editor I should use.

Yeah, already thinking of buying a new 500 series rack for tracking duties and getting a Prometheus in place of the 512c for an ultimate 2 bus processing mobile lunchbox.

Well I'm the proud owner of a Behringer 2600 now. And a lovely synth it is too. It will be a hell of a journey discovering what I can do with it..

Quietly considering a Korg SQ-1 to accompany it, but not in a rush.

Their matching 500 series rack unit adds some functionality to the modules, too. Worth looking into. Not exactly a lunchbox, but a full 19" row.

July 2022 new gear thread-panoramat6.jpg

I sold my TB-3 (doesn't get much use anymore now that I have TD-3s), my Roland a49, Boss DD-7, and my RX21L as well as some old AV equipment to get the money to buy this... but I really wanted at least 61 keys and aftertouch so I am quite excited to leave 49 keys behind.

I have to use my kinda messed up Axiom 49 until my new keyboard gets here but it should only be a few days to wait.

if you're willing to try Steem, the Atari emulator, here's an old editor for VZ that i managed to get running on PC. i zipped up the directory here, it should have everything you need to get it running (will take a bit of figuring out, maybe redirecting where to find one or two files). i couldn't find it anywhere else online, used to use it on Atari, ripped it from the original floppy. oldschool editor/librarian with selectable random, similar to the CZ editors.

Eofys has been kind and managed to get great deal on a Sequential take 5. Will play nicely with recent White Prophet 12LE I got last month and Rev2 I picked up last year. Luckily my son has collection we swap around to get double the value out of

Yeah he is very easy to deal with. I have made three big purchases through him and he is happy to discount. Better than local store DJ

Maybe he is cool but that Andrew guy was a total moron. Store DJ in Bris are pretty good to me but I find them too expensive.

if you have problems getting it going, let me know and i'll figure out why. i zipped it all up working, but the process of loading a floppy image might take a couple of attempts to get right ! also there's a 'TOS' operating system file it will want to find, and might need help the first time on a new system. it isn't an ideal solution but it will edit a VZ - tested in midiox, and used in the past (to make some whacky VZ arpeggios and mad stuff).

I had a weird experience at Awave a few years ago, although on a whole they're great. Was buying a couple Warm Audio things and a Rev2. Asked if they could price match the Rev2 with Turra music's price on it (they advertise price matching and it made sense to buy everything from the one place if possible). They told me yes they can but I should buy the Rev2 from Turra in quite a rude way haha. Didn't bother me, did just that, synth from Turra, WA stuff from Awave

I also purchased mopho from Turra as they had the best deal back then. Couldn't fault their service and price at the time. About 2010

Damn. I came into this year convinced that I would not buy more hardware, just like last year, which was a selling year. Then I bought the SXR-09 World Collection expansion for my MC909, then a Roland V-Synth to be her trusted partner, and now a guy shows up with a Jupiter 80 for about 1000 Euro.

It conforms to all my Roland favs: D-Beam, Coaxial out, solid build, and a great engine for emulating acoustic instruments (supernatural and APS). How could I say no at this price, when acoustic emulations are so central to our music?

I have paid a reservation fee. The seller lives in the other end of the country but will bring it to me when he is going on vacation to our end about 22 of July. So the MC909-VSynth duo will become a trio. I will post my own pic of it then. This is from the net:
