I helped beta it...which didnt involve me doing much lol. Like most of my beta testing (except beta blockers which I tested like a boss)

Anyway dunno who else did it in here? Great stuff, I have the synth drums from WA and while I love them theyre a bit overwhelming with the amount of choice. I really like the idea of single synth kits like these, much more immediate... Our main man Golden Beers was behind them and synth drums (“get out of ban free card” on the way )

Been using it with Push 2 now chucking them in the MPC and make another 8 sketches Ill never finish

GB I read that you have constant fundamental kicks in this pack, I take it that there is no pitch drop, how did you synthesise them?

actually I have another couple of sets in the bag, but most likely these will be added to Synth Drums2 as they're not designed to be stand alone. SYS-100 Drums is kind of unique in this way.

These work great with Ableton/Push obviously but Ive made a few kits in the MPC and loaded all the samples in there...makes it a blinding synth drum machine. Unfortunately it makes my hardware drum machines/synth feel obsolete...machinedrum went yesterday, Vermona might be next.

You did an amazing job with SYS-100 Drums. It is quite insane just how much work went into the synthesizing and layering of up to 14 layers for each and every drum sound. Hats off to golden beers

WaveAlchemy is top shelf.

All drum sounds are composites synthesised from individual layers, the kicks typically 3 layers (top transient - mid/low body - and root). I used Linkwitz-Riley filters for 'mixing' the layers of every sound in the library so that they mesh perfectly. The drums don't sound like they're made from separate layers because of this and also because each one was designed as a whole using the previously synthesised layers as reference - I would audition as I created the next layer and so on.

So to answer your question: What this enables you to do, is say for example you make a kick in the 'ordinary' way, with a resonant filter and an envelope modulating the cut off, you can record it twice and on the second pass remove the envelope modulation.

you then would combine the two versions, cutting out the lowest frequencies of the 'moving pitch' version and replacing that with 'flat' version. the result is a kick that sounds like it's moving in pitch , but isn't - doesn't work if you design the kick badly, but if you make sure it's 'in tune' with itself the result is pretty flawless.

Amazing... I generally tend to avoid stacking samples as it often tends to just make a muddy mess... You can have phase cancellation happening when wave cycles are opposing and I find it generally makes for ****y sounds..... But these samples are pristine; you really can't tell they've been layered, at all.

Okay... So I've now got hold of this pack.... WOW.

I've previewing with my Subpac S1 in my chair... Those 'Atmosphere' and bass drum sounds! Wow wow wow.

And the toms... Really nice fluffy analog attacks, pitched tones, beefy low frequencies... So nice.

I will definitely be using these heavily in my productions!

Make Noise Morphagene is my only sampler at this time, I just got it and I have yet to load up any reels with drums on them though, been having fun mangling vocals mostly. I plan on getting a couple TipTop "One" sample players, specifically for drum use actually...

oh wow.. no way of playing back samples like a drum machine.. I guess this is not for you then!

Finally had the time to play with this baby and this is easily one of the best sounds set i have on my 2 TB ssd !!

First let's talk quality :

TOP !! easy on pair (to not say surpassing in some aspect) with stuff i consider PRO like Gold Baby , Transistor Rythm banks for NI , Sound Dust,or stuff made with ASS Chromaphone , PRO and not hyped , not over FXed (when Fx present) !! Level consistant from sounds to sounds , kits to kits ... well organised and cathegorized ..


Sounds :

Let me put it this way , so often when we hear banks all made on synth pretty sounding kinda the same , with the same type of sounds , it's very difficult to create great , inetersting and original sounds because of the sounddesigner taste in conjonction with the synth ability !!

The system 100 is crazy capable of generating anything as soon as you know your thing !!

And Golden Beers is a name i have put in my "fallow closely the work of " list !!

The variety of sounds cover all areas , from classic Kick Snares HH ect ....to percussiv heaven exotic type of sound to crazy soundscapes ... anyhting you need/want , you will find it .....yep finding sounds is always a headache in some banks so it's a mess ....Categorisation is classic but spot on , BUT a big plus is the variety of "versions" of sounds aka treatment : (pic 1)

I tried the Battery kits , just load the first kit and all the kits will fallow , battery puts itself in the folder root so just hitting next will go to the next kits ... and all kits are gonna be listed on the browser ...

Kits ? Plenty !!! (38 kits) (see pics 2 for names) i made a beat and went next ..next ..next ...i like to do that to judge the consistancy of the Kits Layout !!(pic3) and this what i'm emphaiss here ...the layout is consistant fo course , but homogenus , by saing this i 'm saying that layout is one thing , sounds choice another , some banks respect of course the layout but snare doesn't sound like a snare sometime ect ...not here !!!

What i loved is that kits are not 25 cellules !! 16 pads norma here ...so a regular controller will be at home (Maschine , Akai , M audio ect ..)

The other things is the mega kits (see pic 4 & 5) : here he regrouped all the type of sound in its mega kits making it suitable for easy finding of any type of sound druing a production or from start with a temaplte (this how a plan on using it) to create any type of kits from the ground up (i will use battery with maschine making a group for each mega kits Kick , Snare , HH ect ...)

Value / price :

Guyz i know money tight for a lot of people and also there's SO MANY stuff around that even if you're not so tight money Wise , accumulation can be dangerous (money and creativ Wise !!) So i will comment in this with all the consciensness availlable from my personnal exeprience .

The price is £32.95 , for this you will have 6 format , super Deep Live intregration , 38 kits with mega kits , and all samples with diffrents treatment tryope from Raw to vinyl !!

To put it simple , to have this in over brands you will have to pay easy 3 time the price !!! Maschine expansions are 50 $ for one format and one type of sample !!!

So yep the value for money is simply outsanding so the product life imho is big so it covers any needs for a serious Producer from deep house to hip hop , to movie work and soundesign !!

Conclusion :

As you must have guessed it , i'm happily surpised and completly sold to this thing , i know Wavealchemy brand is synonimous with quality , variety and fair prices with deep integration withing any set up but i must say they made a crazy dammn good thing , i love the system 100 and they gave it justice like no other around( i considered at one time the spitfire take on system 100 , but for the money i didn't heard what i wanted /needed) , in this case , i'm thankfull that finally somebody made it and made it like it's supposed to be !!

MUST HAVE for any Producer /sounddesign

trick : use an step sequencer / arpeggiator like Cthulu or anyhting else with those and you will create some crazy loops from HH to percussion grooves (variation of pitch , pan , vel ect ..) , i'm already creating my own set of loop templates

What i would have liked is kits for Geist or Maschine , but it's not at all a deal breaker and can be done really quikly ....since you have the kits in other formats already as a refernce or even by using kontakt , battery ect withing maschine ...

If time allows a video i will do if you guyz needs me to cover a specific thingy that i didn't covered here !!

Was also one of the testers for this pack. They sound great. I have an EP coming out in a couple of weeks that use only drums from this pack as the tracks were done during the beta testing. GB did a stelar job with this release and the integration with push was key for me to use only these sounds as i normally fall on some racks i built over time and process from there. But these were inspiring and made me write the whole thing around them.
This is a side project and i normally put out a couple of eps every year, as i only focus on it when i have some clear idea of what to do. But starting to play with these drums triggered making the two tracks coming out soon so personally i couldn't be happier with them.

Ultimately that's why we keep buying music gear (sounds including), to spark some inspiration. Otherwise we would all be done with 2-3 things and probably never touch anything nit included in the daw we use

Oh I don't know...if they were made available in Morphagene reels the way they are available in kits for all those VST's I'd probably pay for them just to not have to make the reels myself /lazy.

I also plan on buying a TipTop "One" or two to augment my drum modules. Same story there, I hate reformatting files.

Point being, modular folks use drum samples all the time. Maybe if you cater to them they will come a runnin, wallets flappin in the breeze. You know we love throwing money into the fire.

I have also been using Sys100 drums lately, what I love about this and Synth drums sample packs is that they are new and different sounds to the proven and abused 808, 909 classics, but they still sound familiar and for the particular genre I make (techno) they fit pretty well and don't sound "samey".

The diversity in the sounds is also great, providing enough material to develop ideas in different genres and filling most of the needs for an electronic percussion kit in a typical song.

I am using the Ableton pack along Push 2 and the whole drum rack and chains are very well thought out with several options which make using the pack very very easy. I like the Volume controls are mapped to the top rack macros, and the individual sounds have their own set of controls. My only suggestion would be to provide a second drum rack with the pads mapped in the more traditional General MIDI configuration for the pads.

Overall the value is great and as Synth drums, it provides lots of useful material.

What always surprises me is that how electonic generated sounds can be made to sound "organic" .... at the end it's all electrons .... as well as real acoustic instruments ...

How did you get the battery kits in? I cant seem to get it right.
I can load the kits one by one, but always have to navigate browser to the kits.
