I recall Uli saying here a few years ago they have software that goes through the posts collecting data and analyzing trends or something like that.

How about a "SWING/S"
Basically, a Swing with built-in sampling.
Like a Keystep and Casio SK-5 (or Microsampler) made a baby.

They've got to use that mini keyboard format for some new products, and a $99 mini sampler would be killer.
I would take it everywhere with me to annoy everyone with my n-n-n-n-nineteen renditions

Here's my mock-up.
If Behr want to buy the design off me, it will cost them the price of a free Pro-16/UBXa

Mod/pitch wheels are used here to set: sample start/end points, loop start/end, attack/decay, sustain/release, FM speed/depth, AM speed/depth. Packs in a lot of functions without needing a lot of extra controls.
Save / load up to 16 samples to SD card. Samples selected from SHIFT-keys. Option to audition WAV files from SD card and load them into one of the 16 sample locations. Mic/line input on rear panel, to plug in an appropriate Behringer dynamic mic or line level source for sampling. Could also offer a quality switch between 8-bit/32kHz sampling or 16bit/48kHz.

So, Behr won't be at Superbooth this year. Would they do an alternative? It's unusually quiet over there.

EML-101

With the ongoing chip shortage relegating Behringer to making clones of chip-free 1970s synths, I would love them to make a brand new EML-101 while they are still on their 1970s kick.

EML ElectroComp 101 was one of the synths to come out around the time the 2600 came out. It’s a semi-modular like the 2600, and has four oscillators, a filter which can be low pass, band pass, or high pass, two AR envelopes, and a VCA. It’s not quite as flexible as a 2600, but it has some tricks up its sleeve, including a fully variable shape for three of its four VCOs.

It doesn’t have quite as many patch points as the 2600, so we’re probably looking at a $500 synth, but it would have to be bigger than the standard size Behringer is making these kinds of synths (but smaller than a 2600). Or make it $600 with some enhancments (i.e. allowing the shape to be voltage controlled, if it’s feasible to update the EML-101 design to allow that)

Thanks for this suggestion of the EML Electrocomp 101. Many people in europe don't realise the significance of these EML synths that were used in lots of schools and colleges in the USA throughout the 70s. Not as well known as Moog and ARP, but regarded as comparable with those systems in the mid-70s.

PS, please don't clone those plastic knobs Behringer!

Following on from the above suggestion..
ElectroComp 200 another good candidate for a module?
These synths seem to be good for processing sounds with reverb / ring mod in addition to synthesis, like the 101 model above.
