Ok so I formatted my 8 gig scsi2sd card in my kurzweil.
It wont show in my PC!


How many devices do you set up in the scsi2sd Utility?
I set up as 4 devices saved then formatted within the Kurzweil.

Now the microsd card wont show up in my pc, laptop, no place.
Cant even format it in disk management because its not showing any longer!

also you do know that most samplers use a propitiatory system type that is not visible on a pc/mac?

on a asrx you can view your "harddrive" ie your sd card and drag and drop on them, unfortunatly you cant do the same on say a s950 or non valixy mpc 3000 etc.

Which Kurzweil? The older ones used FAT16.. which you can absolutely read on a PC (just remember to limit the files/folders in a given directory, as there are some limits)

K2600. Formatted in K2600 and its "unallocated" in W10.
Is there some Pc utility to access the drives?

when i had a k2000 and formated my drive in there, i think it didnt create a proper msdos permission,
i could access it with linux, but i guess windows cant handle that.

how in the hell do people use scsi2sd with a kurzweil?

I am stupid and should just stick to taking drugs and alcohol.

I have to be honest my Glyph SCSI drives were rock solid and AWESOME on all my samplers.
everything else was a waist of cash and time.

Iv come to the conclusion this CRAP scsi2SD does not work at all.
its garbage and a waist of time and money.

I dont know what the hell you need to get samples into your samplers that no longer boot up, format or do much of anything.

10 minutes to copy 100 megs to the card that is in fat 16? WTF who has time for that?
After TEN minutes I boot my Sampler and its a text file from the CD rom, no files. nothing.

I have a v5.0b board and I cannot get my computer to mount the card reader as a drive so I cannot move files to it. I guess I'm not alone in having issues and feeling as if maybe documentation could be a bit better. I guess I need to try mounting and formatting the drive from the k2000 first and then maybe it'll be addressable from the PC.

Well - I did it about 2 months ago.

I didn't mount it internally - got one of the 3d printed external cases and it fired right up.

I used the scsi2sd utility via USB and did all the programming and partitioning.

I formatted an 8G micro card to 4x 2G partitions - could copy stuff right to it via card reader. (keep in mind, Windows will only see the first partition natively.. it doesn't support partitions on external/usb drives)

SCSI2SD recognized it as 4 drives in the K2k.. no issues.

DId you use the USB connection to program the SCSI2SD card?

I pretty much did the same thing as biggator6 last year.

Sometimes it just takes a little patience to make sure are doing everything right. I would not recommend having your PC connected on the same SCSI chain. Manually copy your files between your PC and the SD card with a card reader to the first partition.

FYI - that's the guy I got my K2k OS eproms from ... very reliable.

Yup, I ran the config tool on my computer, went with the recommendations for Kurzweil and the SD card isn't seen as a drive by my computer so I can't copy files to it.

Are you taking it out of the SCSI2SD card and sticking it in a card reader? or just going USB to the SCSI2SD card?

If the 2nd.. that won't work.

Can somebody tell me what I need to have a SCSI2SD V6 in enclosure with fitting SCSI cable for a Kurzweil K2661? (so external)
I am a bit in the dark with this. I live in Belgium and would like to order it all in one go from one seller in UK or nearby.

So far I have yet to see anyone design an external enclosure specifically for the v6. There is a v5 enclosure that a bunch of dealer are selling, but nothing for the v6. So if you want to run it externally, you’ll need to hack something up.

Something like this, with the internal floppy tray might be a good starting point. You’ll still need to conver the 50 pin on the SCSI2SD to an external port and figure out how to mount it.

I can't get SCSI2SD to work in my kurzweil.
Kurzweil k2000 os 3.87. SCSI2SD v5.1 (4.8.03 firmware)
Kurzweil sees four SCSI ID 1850mb, formats them, but when trying to load files into kurzweil - "Not a DOS disk: pc_dskinit" and then "problem mounting disk".
I tried two different SD cards - 8Gb (4 SCSI ID format 2Gb) and 1Gb SD card.
Another point is when the SCSI cable is reversed, kurzweil will not boot.

Has anyone met such a problem? What could be the solution?

BUT!
1. SCSI cable is not reversed.
2. Disable termination in SCSI2SD settings!
You can disable SCSI termination by deleting three resistors arrays in the K2000 itself. But disabling termination in the SCSI2SD settings is much easier and more versatile.
Chain of - SCSI2SD (no termination) - K2000 - external SCSI CD (with active termination) - Works great.
I hope this helps someone, because i took some time to figure out wtf.

Chain of - SCSI2SD (no termination) - K2000 terminated - doesn't work
SCSI2SD (no termination) - K2000 terminated - external SCSI CD (with active termination) - doesn't work (partitions on SD are visible but not usable - K2000R freezes upon load

LAST NEWS:

previously I used external CD-RROM with 50pin terminator; then I changed it to disk in other encloser and 64pin terminator - there was a small light of hope, because I could see and use all SD partition; next I used another one scsi case with my old internal Kurzweil disk (50pin terminator) and voilà - now I am copying all files from that disk to one of my SD partition.
But chain: K2000R with terminate resistors installed - not terminated scsi2sd - still doesn't work. Maybe it's a problem of too long scsii cable (about 30cm). In Kurzweil's document on scsi rules stays that we don't need to terminate other end of scsi chain, if the connection cable doesn't exceed 8 inches. So it's probably your case.

As far as I remember, the internal SCSI cable in the K2000 is about 30cm long.
I can say that I definitely had problems until I connected the internal SCSI cable correctly (reversed or not). In my case, the correct connection of the internal SCSI cable to the SCSI2SD was "not reversed".
