Another thread got me to thinking about all the gear I've owned over the years, which in turn got me to thinking about what gear everyone else here might have now or have used in the past. I'm curious to see what everyone here has owned, particularly synths. So how about a thread where we put the paints before the painting, and we list off all the gear we've ever owned?

This is kind of where I'm at as well. Trying to piece together a spreadsheet for this thing, and not including all the Eurocrack. It isn't 1100 long like yours, but still, it's a lot of gear to sort through.

This is a trick isn't it? This is that show "Hoarders: Buried Alive...Synth Nerds Edition" trying to do an intervention. Well, it won't work. I'd hide in any of my closets but they are packed with gear.

Considering that I've been following your gear exploits for a while (especially with the Modular Thread), I'd be interested in seeing your list.

My ideal keys setup, without getting into super high end stuff, would be something like a Roland rd64 with a DSI rev 2 or Prophet 600 on top and a karp oddy. I'd keep the microkorg and microbrute.

But what about the stuff you don't own anymore? That's what I'm excited to see is a list of everything.

There's a few whom I'd love to see: Yours, David Morley's, Don Solaris, Fiddlestickz, Slaughtrhaus, Genshi, Popbott... I've been reading posts from and admiring the tuneage from all you bastards for so many years now, that I'd love to see everything you've ever had in the kitchen.

This is a good format. So I'm gonna steal it! Seriously, good idea since I'm sure nobody cares about all the Behringer I used to own. There are two columns. My Studio and Other Gear I've Used.

I need to update mine as I have sold some of the stuff in My Studio. It will need to be moved the the other column.

I have a big list that I email to myself. I update that list when I get new stuff then email it to myself again.

The spreadsheet idea might be something I should look into.

I also don't inventory audio or midi cables, power supplies or manuals though I probably should.

And now for my real ulterior motive: Picking apart people's choices and getting more gear knowledge.

So why the love/hate with the SP808?

...well, ****. I never noticed that before. Mods, delete this thread. Hell, delete me if you want. Just ban me from the face of the planet.

Edit: Is there a way to bulk add to the list? I really really really don't want to have to go through each item one at a time and add them individually.

You went ITB a while back, didn't you? Do you ever miss the hardware? Also, have you found a solution to getting hands-on with synth programming that doesn't feel like a compromise? Legitimately interested in this as I keep buying plugins but not using them because I hate the interface.

So what makes the SP-808 so special, then? At a glance, it looks like it would be cumbersome to work with compared to an MPC or even an SP-505.

Yeah, it would take me a day to go through everything I've bought since the mid-80's when I got started.....in fact, I doubt that I could remember every little thing. I'm guessing though that I've spent well over $200k in the past 30+ years. I've probably spent 1/4 of every penny I've ever made in my life on music related purchases.

So glad peoples sold lists are bigger than mine. Unfortunately none of my sells have been out of choice, only due to changing circumstances
