I don't think it's comparable to the Volcas, except maybe in price.

It has a synth, the Volca Beats doesn't. Wolf has 2 measure patterns plus fills.

Where it really loses out is that the Beats has a MIDI delay type thing, and the Rhythm Wolf sounds very dry. They should have put some individual outputs there besides the synth.

Also, they could probably program some kind of pattern chain function in there, simply hold shift in pattern select mode plus the first and last pattern in the chain. I bet they never will though.

A monotribe or Volca Sample would be a lot more useful/fun.

Why not buy all 3. They're almost as cheap individually as a vinyl album these days and instantly more interesting.

I bought both. I have both. I am keeping both.
The RW by itself, is somewhat flabby and weak,
and not so impressive.

However, when mixed with a Cyclone TT-78, a Monotribe as
a snare accent noise generator (VCO muted) and the RW,
it gives me a unique sound. YMMV

Personally, the TS-305, wipes the floor of the AKAIS,
but the RW, Tom Cat will not give you a hernia in moving them.

The TS-305 is a tom machine, and I would like to one day
acquire a Simmons to go with...

I hold my head in shame though, as I traded away my Timbre Wolf.
They always said back in the 70s on adverts, "collect the entire set".

I was errant, and I need to spend time in the penalty box

On topic: RW and TC.
Different, not better.

Do you think it's better than the Tom Cat?

Found a use for the RW, besides sitting in storage waiting for cryogenic reanimation in the future.
This time it is used to generate CV for an MS-20Kit via the ESP input to Fc converter.
