No, other way round I think...
The density of the material (pink fluffy stuff) will become less important as the thickness increases.

...so if the pink fluffy is half the density of the 703, it will work similarly to the 703 if it is twice as thick. Though I am in no way quailified to comment on this....or pretty much anything.

I have never seen testing of just pink stuff in the corners, but I would think that 703 would do better, but (boy that is 2 buts in one sentence) not by a ton.

You are correct, as a generalization. There is a long thread about gas flow resisitance that gives a more detailed expalanation.

The density is about half, but the fiber diameter is also about half, so the net result [in terms of the mathematical models, at least] is roughly identical flow resistivity.
