Foam Question

I posted this in the wrong spot earlier, but I've got a pair of KRK RPG2 5 Monitors. I was thinking about buying the Auralex MoPAD Isolation Pads for my KRK's but then I wondered couldn't I just use the packing foam that came with the monitors instead of spending 40$ on the Auralex MoPAD?If anyone else out there has done an experiment or knows if it makes a big difference please help me out I'm just trying to get my studio right. THANKS A LOT

I use packing foam. Upholster it if it's ugly and it works great. Might not be fireproof, but it's cheap. Alot of people use mousepads or gardening knee pads. Search for threads on the Recoil Stabilizer or Mopads, and you'll see people's knockoffs.

+1 on a couple of mouse pads per side.

I've got a set of the Primacoustic recoil stabalizers at home on audition, they're alright, but I'd spend my money else where.
