QRD's - What are construction tolerances?

Hi All

I'm planning on putting a QRD at the back of my room, 8 inch deep, 1 inch wells, 47 periods wide in total. I got figures from:

QRD Diffuser Well Depth Calculator

.... which say I'll get diffusion between 757Hz - 6780Hz. However the tolerance for woodworking is down at 1/32nd inch, which is more precise than my local joiners can work at. They say +/- 1mm is best they can offer.

Can anyone say what the likely impact on performance would be?

Thanks!
Chris

seriously...

0.031 25 inch = 0.79375 millimeter

i dont really think .21 mm is going to make a great deal of difference... youre just trying to scatter the sound in a 'mathematically random' way...

8 inch deep wells = 203.2mm, thus the .21mm = only a .3% variation

this would cause at most a 2hz on the low end 20 hz on the high end variation

i haphazardly jammed mine together with different sized 2x2's and had good results
