Midi control plugin parameters in Pro Tools 10

Hi all,

I have a USB Midi keyboard with various slides and knobs. Recently I switched back to Pro Tools (10), which is brilliant, but there is one thing I cannot figure out (yet).

I want to automate a parameter of a plugin, for instance the frequency of an equalizer. I know how to automate it, so i can draw a line to change it, or record a mouse movement.

But I'd like to be able to control this with the slides or knobs of my keyboard/controller. For instance the cutoff of the AIR filter plugin, to record a natural movement.

Is there a way to map this? Or is this something the plugin has to specifically support (midi mapping?).

TY! R.
