I'll bump this instead of starting a thread...
OK, so I've never played a live show with my synth rig (I drummed in the past, but never done anything "electronic" on stage), but that time may be fast approaching. I'd like to incorporate the computer and Live into the mix for looping stuff I've already composed (there will be no recording into Live at the shows). All the loops will be created beforehand.
I understand how the program works and how I will utilize it at shows... That's not the issue. What I'd like to know is how you guys that are working with Live in a live setting handle different/multiple songs... Like if you do a six song set, and every song has parts in Ableton, do you just load up the new song in Live in-between songs? That seems awfully clumsy, awkward, and slow....

Or do you just have multiple instances open and switch to the one you need to use? That seems like a computer crisis waiting to happen. I believe I would begin weeping and possibly urinate on myself if my computer froze up mid show.
How do you guys handle this?
