Nice, I've finally been putting in a lot of time into learning Ableton the last 6 months. As a long time Reason user, imo the 2 DAW's couldn't be more different, but they really compliment themselves nicely. Really happy using both, and garner lots of new creative means to get stuff done with smaller time windows & minimal frustration.

Where is the Push 3? Now, because of the new Ableton 11 everyone will wait about the Push 3 and this is going to influence the Push 2 sales.

Ableton Live 10 was officially released in 2018, wtf and now the Ableton 11, so where is the Push 3? WTF?

I'm not sure what I should be excited about for this release. Comping and randomisation midi is cool, but was hoping to at least see a smart integration of step sequencers in the standard Ableton like Logic Pro 10.5. Guess Max does that but I've got no intention of getting Suite version. So new instruments/FX don't excite me too much.

Not sure this is worth the upgrade fee... and it's a mistake to list MPE as the headline new feature, most users won't make use of it.

Yes!

MPE support
Live tempo following
Macros 1-8 and 9-16 automatically mapped to Push
Polyphonic aftertouch with Push

All very welcome features. Will definitely be upgrading.

You don’t need to use MPE controller to use MPE features, so probably a good amount of people will use it.

Having the beta for some time now I can tell you it's well worth the upgrade. Tons of tiny details that improve (my) workflow.

What's swung it for me is MPE as Linnstrument is my main controller and I have an Osmose on order ... + Push 2 gets polyphonic after-touch, so it's becoming a bit more like my Linnstrument... I'll be brushing the dust off that then ...

What about external (instrument) MIDI volume? Nope, didn't think so...

For loop-based songwriting and performing, Ableton really is peerless (in Session mode), especially when combined with a Push 2. My fav hardware sequencer is Pattern mode on the Yamaha Motif series, and Live is the closest to that workflow (and then some, obviously).

I also wish they revamped the GUI a bit. I know it's their thing, and you can get "Themes"...but it's still pretty much the same thing. I really hate the way Ableton looks in Arrangement view for the Session/clips view it works nicely, though.

The included sounds and/or Packs are useless to me...so don't really care if they added any.

Ouch. For what this adds it could have been a point upgrade. Mostly stuff you'd sort of expect it to be able to do already (randomisation/chance). Seems like they ported a few Max plugs (spectral stuff which they charged me for already, as add-ons) to native. Yet another €180 seems a bit rum.

16 macros to play with too Looks like a good update to me, especially with a Push firmware update too adding the poly pressure. New Drumsynth instrument, Updates to Collision, Electric & Tension along with the updated FX.

I knew MPE was coming. Told the folks in the Expressive E thread but they doubted..lol.

How does tempo following work? I am curious basically if this is a way to sync hardware drum machines for example.
